Host a community cricket match: Plan a friendly between local teams or community groups and charge a small entry free for participants and a gold coin donation for spectators to come along and watch all the action.
Boost your batting average and earn bonus donations by:
- Organising food stalls, such as a bake sale, sausage sizzle or by donating a portion of beverage sales on the day.
- Setting up a themed photo booth with cricket-related props and costumes and charge a fee for guests to take fun photos, creating lasting memories while contributing to the cause.
- Playing carnival games with a cricket twist, like ‘knock the stumps,’ ‘hit the target’ or ‘classic catches’.
Go Corporate: Bring the oval to the office, and encourage local businesses to go head-to-head in a corporate cricket tournament. Charge companies an entry fee and encourage employees to raise additional funds through sponsorships.
Family Fun Day: Create a family-friendly event with cricket-themed games and activities for kids, such as face painting, obstacle courses, and batting cages. Charge an admission fee and sell food and drinks to raise money.
24-hour cricket challenge: Turn on the lights and set up a continuous cricket game where teams play in shifts over 24 hours. Participants can seek sponsorships for each hour they play. Howzat!
Cricket Clinics: Organise a coaching clinic for aspiring young cricketers, led by experienced players or coaches. Charge a fee for participation and provide certificates of achievement to attendees.
Big Bash: Set up a T20 match and enlist local businesses and organisations to donate money for every six hit! Out for a duck, double the donation!
Pink Stumps High Tea: High Teas are one of our favourite fundraisers at the McGrath Foundation. Create your own high tea experience and encourage guests to wear a touch of pink as they nibble on classic high tea delicacies while watching all the cricket action.
Live on request: Take the festivities into the night and hire a local band or DJ to get the party started. Want to hear your favourite song? Charge a donation for requests.
