Take the Office Outside to Help Fund Cancer Care

5 simple steps to get you started

1. Get Your Team Together

Sign up and rally your colleagues to support people experiencing cancer.

2. Decide on the Rules

Keep it fun, with a social game you make the rules

  • Every player bowls an over
  • Each batting partnership faces two overs
  • No one can get out - teams lose 5 runs for each wicket
  • Add an obstacle players can hit for bonus runs
  • One hand, one bounce is in play

3. Brainstorm Your Fundraising Ideas

Come up with one or two ways to raise funds on the day:
  • Charge an entry fee to play
  • Pay to nominate the batting order
  • Commit to a donation per catch or wicket
  • Sell pink merchandise
  • Run a BBQ or cake stall
  • Make it a friends & family day, host kids' games and competitions
  • Give out awards for best dressed, best catch or best sledge

4. Pick a day and spread the word

Get your community involved by spreading the word on social media and through your networks.

5. Celebrate the Difference You're Making

See how your community comes together in the name of care and know you've helped take cancer care to more people in Australia when they need it most.

ACT Steelworks vs Lendlease annual cricket match tradition

Both teams battle it out for the trophy each year, but the day is about much more than friendly rivalry.

It brings together friends, family and colleagues from both businesses, united to raise funds to support McGrath Cancer Care Nurses.
"There may be plenty of competition, banter and bragging rights on the line, but at the heart of the day is something far more meaningful. Coming together, having fun, and supporting a cause that makes a real difference.”
