4 simple steps to get you started

1. Get Your Team Together

2. Brainstorm your fundraising ideas

Come up with one or two ways to raise funds on the day:

  • Charge an entry fee to play
  • Pay to nominate the batting order
  • Commit to a donation per catch or wicket
  • Sell pink merchandise
  • Run a BBQ or cake stall
  • Make it a day for everyone, host kids' games and competitions
  • Give out awards for best dressed, best catch or best sledge

3. Pick a Day and Spread the Word

Get your community involved by spreading the word on social media and through your networks.

4. Celebrate the difference you're making

See how your community come together in the name of care and know you’ve helped take cancer care to more people in Australia when they need it most.

The Turner's unique Pink Stumps Day in Ingledale

Just over an hour from Armidale on a family farm a cricket pitch is groomed each year ready for an annual Pink Stumps Day Big Bash.

Friends and family bring camp chairs, marquees and eskies. The teams are selected, the BBQ is fired up, and the competition begins.

This is how the Turner Family have embraced Pink Stumps Day and rallied their community behind the cause.

And the fun doesn't stop at cricket. A rowing challenge has become a crowd favourite, with participants competing throughout the day to set the fastest time in a 500m sprint on the rowing machine.

The Turner's Backyard rules:

  1. Everyone must play.
  2. Each player bowls an over
  3. Each batting partnership faces two overs
  4. If you get out you lose 5 runs but keep playing
  5. Hit the pyramid of drums on the roof of the shed +25 runs.
  6. Hit the pink forty four gallon drum on the field +10 run
Use these or add you own like one hand one bounce.
