St Peters Lutheran College made Pink Stumps Day a meaningful school tradition
Each year St Peters Lutheran College turn their annual Pink Stumps Day into a whole-school moment that brings students, staff, families and cricket together to support people experiencing cancer.
What started as a way to help the school community understand the impact of breast cancer has grown into an annual event in conjunction with Marist College Ashgrove.
On the day, cricket fields are fitted with pink stumps, students wear pink, families come along to show their support and the school community gets behind a meaningful cause .
The schools cricket coordinator, Garry has supported the McGrath Foundation since the very first Pink Stumps Day. Gary remembers when a cricket captain’s mother shared her story about her own breast cancer experience.
“From that moment, we saw how important the event was for families and the wider school community. Pink Stumps Day is a chance for all of us to come together and show our support.”
