Pink is the colour of care

We are fundraising to support Women who are affected by breast cancer and the families by their side.

Thank you so much for your support.

Fundraiser details

Date: 26/08/2025 - 14/03/2026

Alright friends, gather round.
It started, as all great sporting rivalries do, with a couple of beers, an AO match, and a mate who got way too confident. Nathan “Gee” Gee leans over to me and says:
“Give me a year and I could beat you in a game of tennis.”
One thing led to another, and before I knew it, we had a bet: A five-set tennis match. Loser puts on the apron, winner picks up the clippers. Since then, what started as a friendly challenge between mates has grown into something much bigger: an opportunity to rally our friends and family around a cause that truly matters.
We believe no one should go through cancer without care. That’s why we’re proud to be holding this event in support of the McGrath Foundation and their incredible work in breast cancer support and awareness. Breast cancer affects more people than you probably realise - 1 in 7 women are diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. This is a cause which has a significant meaning to both Nathan and I, which is why we have chosen to support it.
Now the date is locked in, the courts are (almost) booked, and Melbourne is bracing itself for a level of tennis that, if you’re lucky, might resemble AO warm-up drills. Expect dodgy serves, questionable line calls, and at least one of us (Gee) attempting a tweener and failing miserably.
But this isn’t just a match. This is about pride, rivalry, and - most importantly - a chance to support an incredible charity that helps thousands of women and families access vital care.
Come down, cheer us on, bring your mates and your heckles, and watch me serve justice (and double faults) as I take down the man who thought one night of tennis at the AO made him Novak Djokovic.
This will be something you don’t want to miss.

McGrath Cancer Care Nurses provide expert care and support to people and their families experiencing any type of cancer for free right across Australia.

Thank you for your support

You two are immense champions. I love what you have done and your support of such an important cause. I was lucky to receive the support of a McGrath Nurse when I had BC and she was beyond amazing. I'm so chuffed to see your friendship and senses of humour blossom into brilliant idea like this.

My Post

Update: GSS is Today!

Where: West Brunswick Tennis Club court 7
When: 5:30pm warm up, 6pm start
Since pink is the theme, we’d love it if you wear as much of it as possible!
Obviously, please help us respect the tennis club by keeping the place clean. We really want to leave the area the way we find it.
We’ve decided to do a blind auction for the chance to shave the loser’s head - so every donation we get after the first serve will go in the running to win this. Make sure to donate under your own name so we know who to hand the clippers to!
We are currently at $2,824 which has smashed our goal of $1000. Nathan and I are awed by this and incredibly grateful for everyone’s generosity to help us support the McGrath foundation.
See you down there 🩷

Update: GSS is this Saturday!

Game. Set. Shave. is this Saturday so here are the final details.
We’re raising money for the McGrath Foundation (donation link in our bio), which supports cancer care nurses in communities across Australia for people affected by breast cancer. We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who has helped us reach our $1000 goal, but we’d love to keep it going!
The court is booked from 5:30pm at West Brunswick Tennis Club (Court 7). The match will start shortly after a quick warm-up so you’ll want to arrive before 6pm.
There’ll be a free sausage sizzle, so dinner is sorted.
After the match, and once Gee’s head is shaved, we’ll head to the Railway Hotel (in Brunswick). If you can’t make the match, we’d still love to see you at the pub.
We’re so excited to put on a great show of tennis and hope you can make it down to watch Gee or me lose our hair.

Update: one week out!

We are only a week out from the big dance, so I wanted to jump in here and share a few things.
First of all, a huge thank you to everyone who has supported the cause so far. The support has been awesome and thanks to that we’ve raised over $600, leaving less than $400 to go before reaching our donation goal.
If you haven’t already and are willing and able, Jono Dunn and I would greatly appreciate any help getting us over the line. Jono even mentioned he would personally do the dishes of every person who donated… but you'll probably need to confirm with him on that.
Secondly, if all goes to plan and some serious tennis is played, I plan to be shaving Jono’s head straight after the match, before we head down the road to the Railway Hotel in Brunswick (NOT Fitzroy) where we’ve made a big group booking in the beer garden. So please come down and help reassure Jono that it doesn’t look that bad.
Finally — there will be snags.
Jack McNamara has graciously volunteered to be Grill Master for the evening and will be dishing out sausages faster than Jono loses his service games. As they say… early bird gets the sausage.
Again, we really appreciate all the support this has gained and are looking forward to seeing everyone next Saturday at 6pm.
