Event Details

For the past six years, MIC students have participated in Pink Stumps Day in support of the McGrath Foundation’s mission to ensure that no one goes through breast cancer without the care of a breast care nurse. This collaborative sporting event is a fantastic opportunity for students across the College to come together for a great cause. Each year we have more than 120 students from years 4-12 take part in this well-recognised cricketing experience. Students can participate in the cricket teams or by getting involved as support crew. We know that Montessori parents recognise the profound impact of cultivating empathy and social awareness in your children's education. By supporting initiatives like Pink Stumps Day, you not only champion the cause of breast cancer awareness and support for families but also exemplify the values of compassion and community engagement. Embracing the Montessori principles of nurturing independent thinkers within a collective context, you are teaching your children the significance of contributing to a greater purpose. Through your donations to the McGrath Foundation's Pink Stumps Day, Montessori families intertwine education and action, fostering a spirit of solidarity that resonates deeply with the principles of the Montessori approach. The McGrath Foundation raises funds to allow people experiencing breast cancer to have the support of an individual Breast Care Nurse and MIC is proud to support this goal with our Pink Stumps Day fundraiser. In doing so, we would also like to acknowledge every family in our community who has been touched by breast cancer. Whether it's $1 or $100, every donation accumulates to make a real difference to the McGrath Foundation's ability to achieve their goals.
