Dromana Cricket Club Pink Stumps Day

Supporting families experiencing breast cancer through our love for cricket!

I am writing to share the story of our annual Pink Stumps Day event, which has been taking place at the Dromana Cricket Club for 6 years now. As a former oncology palliative care nurse, cancer has always been close to my heart, and I was inspired to start fundraising and encouraging my friends to join me in supporting this important cause.

Over the years, our group has raised well over a hundred thousand dollars through various fundraising events, but it was when our local cricket club suggested hosting a Pink Stumps Day that we found the perfect opportunity to support our community and raise awareness about cancer. With the help of my friend Alison Hayes, we began planning our first Pink Stumps Day event, and it has since become an annual tradition that we all look forward to.

The Dromana Cricket Club Pink Stumps Day is a day when we celebrate all the ladies in our community. It's a fun and simple day full of auction prizes and games, and past players volunteer their time to help with every aspect of the day, from decorations to hosting the auctions and MC the event. But the part the ladies enjoy most is the table service from the past players. this year will be our 6th year hosting the event, and we are already working and planning to make it even better than before. We are very blessed to have so many local businesses support this cause, and we are proud of the impact we have made on our community.

I would like to thank the Jane McGrath Foundation for all the work you do in supporting breast cancer patients and their families. Your foundation has been an inspiration to us, and we are honored to contribute to such an important cause. We would appreciate any support or advice you could offer us to help make our Pink Stumps Day event even more successful and impactful.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely, Imelda Noonan

Pink is the colour of play

This cricket season, we want to make a difference!

We will be getting out this Pinks Stumps Day because no one should go through breast cancer without the care of a McGrath Breast Care Nurse.

McGrath Breast Care Nurses help individuals and their families affected by breast cancer by providing invaluable physical, psychological, and emotional support from the time of diagnosis and throughout treatment.

All funds raised go towards helping the McGrath Foundation reach their goal of 250 nurses by 2025, to work towards ensuring no one misses out on care.

Thank you so much for your support.
