Pink Up Penrith
When Gai Hawthorn, CEO of Penrith CBD Corporation, was contacted by the McGrath Foundation in 2018, her board members had a polite giggle, because Gai didn’t follow cricket. Since then, McGrath Foundation Co-Founder and President Glenn McGrath has taught Gai a thing or two about the game — and also collaborated with her committee to increase breast cancer awareness and raise important funds with Pink Up Penrith.
Emmaus Christian School
When Emmaus Christian School teacher Ms O’Connell was diagnosed with breast cancer, it was felt deeply through the whole community. Ms O’Connell is a beloved teacher who had been teaching at the school from primary to Year 10 for many years, when she was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in April 2022.
North Kalgoorlie Cricket Club
The third annual Pink Stumps Day event took place on the 18th of February 2023, and what a day it was for the Kalgoorlie- Boulder community. A hot and balmy 37 degree and the side of the cricket oval was a sea of pink. Roughly 60 local women came out to watch the Eastern Goldfields Cricket Association A-grade competition.
