The third annual Pink Stumps Day event took place on the 18^{th of} February 2023, and what a day it was for the Kalgoorlie- Boulder community. A hot and balmy 37 degrees and the side of the cricket oval was a sea of pink. Roughly 60 local women came out to watch the Eastern Goldfields Cricket Association A-grade competition between North Kalgoorlie and Hannans in support a of wonderful cause, the McGrath Foundation.

Initially organiser Hayley Willis was just hoping to raise more than the $8,000 raised during last year’s event, and they were overwhelmed to raise over $10,000 this year. This annual ladies day event is a ticketed event, which includes food and drinks and on the day entertainment, raffles and competitions.

To date this event has raised almost $20,000 for the McGrath Foundation and the organiser Hayley Willis says, “It’s a good opportunity for a bunch of women to get down to the cricket, watch a bit of cricket, chat a bit and have a good day,”

Ladies, dresses, good cause, food, and beverages all enjoyed with a side of cricket, well done North Kalgoorlie Cricket Club for realising that girls just wanna have fun at the cricket!
