Our Pink Army of volunteers are part of our team on the ground, collecting donations and handing out bandanas to Pink Up the grounds.

During your volunteer shift you will: 

  • Be an ambassador of the McGrath Foundation on the grounds during the cricket
  • Distribute pink bandanas in exchange for a donation
  • Collect cash donations
  • Operate ‘Tap and Go’ electronic payment devices throughout the precinct

Most importantly we want you to have fun!

The NRMA Insurance Pink Test is one of those experiences where the atmosphere is electric and we want you to enjoy the day.

The Pink Test is held at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Specific information regarding the location of the Volunteer Headquarters will be provided shortly.

Uniform

A McGrath Foundation volunteer shirt will be provided to wear at the event and must be returned after your shift. These shirts will be dry cleaned at the end of each shift. 

Please wear black pants or a black skirt. 

Wear comfortable shoes as you will be on your feet for the duration of the event. 

Please note, the Sydney Cricket Ground has a strict dress code. No denim, short shorts, revealing attire, sandals or thongs will be allowed in the Members areas.

Frequently asked questions

Can I work with my friend on the day?

Yes, you most certainly can. If you have both signed up to the same shift and time, you can work in teams of two or three, you can select this team yourself on the day.

If you aren't volunteered with a friend, we will find someone for you to be paired with on the day!

Will food be provided on the day?

We will be providing refreshments throughout the day such as snacks, a light meal and drinks. If you have certain dietary requirements, please bring your own food to avoid disappointment.

Will there be a briefing ahead of my volunteer shift?

Yes, general volunteers will have a virtual volunteer briefing on Thursday 11th December. Please keep an eye on your email, you will receive an invitation to join us online. 

It is important that you join us for the online briefing, as we take you through crucial information about your volunteer shift/s. 

How do I know what shifts I'm registered for?

Upon registration, you will have received an email with all of the shifts you have registered for. You will also receive an email in the lead up to the Pink Test with confirmation of your shift date/s and times. If you are unsure, please reach out to us at volunteers@mcgrathfoundation.com.au.

Can I watch the cricket during my volunteer shift or after my shift?

You’ll have a chance to watch whilst walking through the grounds.

If you have a morning shift, you can watch the Test in the afternoon of your shift date. However, you must have changed out of your McGrath Foundation volunteer shirt before enjoying the game as a spectator, checked out of your shift at the volunteer headquarters, and can sit in unreserved seats.

If you have an afternoon shift, you will be able to see some of the on the field action whilst you are collecting donations. Unfortunately, you will not be able to watch in the morning before an afternoon shift without an official ticket as volunteers are unable to enter the stadium until it is check in time for their shift.

What time does my shift start and end?

Morning shift: 7:30am to 1:30pm
Afternoon shift: 2:00pm to 6:30pm

Can I bring a friend?

Everyone needs to be registered for a shift to volunteer. All volunteers must be over the age of 18.

Will I get a reminder of my shift?

Yes, you will get an email closer to the Pink Test with a reminder of your shift time/s. You will also get an SMS the day before.
