Northern Power Cricket Club
Northern Power Cricket Club has been a massive supporter of women’s cricket and being a part of Pink Stumps Day was a chance to raise awareness and funds for those going through breast cancer. Kelly Jolley, a player on their women’s team also added, “It is also an opportunity to showcase our cricket skills and passion to the men of the club, family and friends!”
Emmaus Christian School
When Emmaus Christian School teacher Ms O’Connell was diagnosed with breast cancer, it was felt deeply through the whole community. Ms O’Connell is a beloved teacher who had been teaching at the school from primary to Year 10 for many years, when she was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in April 2022.
North Kalgoorlie Cricket Club
The third annual Pink Stumps Day event took place on the 18th of February 2023, and what a day it was for the Kalgoorlie- Boulder community. A hot and balmy 37 degree and the side of the cricket oval was a sea of pink. Roughly 60 local women came out to watch the Eastern Goldfields Cricket Association A-grade competition.
Why Fundraise?
The McGrath Foundation currently funds 223 McGrath Breast Care Nurses, across Australia, who have provided care and support to over 137,000 families since 2005.
There is so much more we need to do to ensure that every family going through breast cancer has access to a McGrath Breast Care Nurse.
When you hit the pitch in pink on Pink Stumps Day, you’ll be helping the McGrath Foundation reach our mission of ensuring no one misses out on this type of care.
